Day 1: Arrival Nairobi, JKIA

Transfer, Emakoko – Dinner & Overnight
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and assisted to transfer to Emakoko. Located a short 45-minute drive from Nairobi’s major airports, The Emakoko is the ideal alternative to a city hotel when traveling to Kenya. Make yourself at home in our beautifully appointed suites featuring luxurious king-size beds, fireplaces, and private verandas. The Emakoko comprises 10 luxury suites, 5 of which are positioned along the cliff edge and 5 within closer proximity to the river and main lodge area below. While our Cliff Suites boast panoramic views of the vast landscapes, our River Suites are a more convenient option for their easily accessible location.

Prolific for its unique location bordering Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi National Park is both the oldest and smallest park in Kenya. Established in 1946, the park is home to predators including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena as well as other large mammals such as buffalo, black rhino and giraffe. Located a short 45-minute drive from Nairobi’s major airports, The Emakoko is the ideal alternative to a city hotel when traveling to Kenya. The Nairobi National Park, despite its proximity to the capital city of Kenya, boasts a spectacular assortment of birds and wildlife, with over 400 species of bird recorded in one day. With an excellent possibility of spotting four of the Big Five, many Nairobi residents find the lodge a perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life.

Days 2-3: Olpejeta Conservancy

Accommodation: OL Pejeta Bush Camp – Fullboard
After breakfast, you will be picked by your safari guides and transferred by road to Laikipia. You will arrive at the wildlife-dense Ol Pejeta Conservancy by midday, you will bcheck in at the luxurious OL Pejeta Bush Camp in time for lunch. Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is a relaxed tented camp set along the narrow Ewaso Ngiro River. The main mess tent overlooks the Ol Pejeta plains on the other side of the river. Sip your morning coffee while watching weaver birds flutter around the fever trees outside and spend evenings with a glass of wine by the fireplace. The campfire is where guests can gather to share stories and get to know one another after the afternoon game drive. Tucked up in bed later at night, listen out for the conservancy’s lions roaring to each other.

Overlooked by the dramatic snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is in central Kenya’s Laikipia County. It’s home to the two remaining northern white rhinos on the planet and many other endangered animals, all protected around the clock by dedicated rangers. There is a dense population of all sorts of wildlife – including the Big 5 and 300 species of birds – but the conservancy is especially famous for its rhinos, both black and white. It is the only place you can see northern white rhino, with the last two in the world living under 24-hour armed guard at Ol Pejeta. Other endangered animals — Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest and wild dog — are kept in a special 283-hectare enclosure that protects vulnerable species from predation or poaching.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park

Accommodation: The Cliff Kenya – Fullboard
Breakfast at the camp and then transfer via road towards the great rift valley, you will arrive at the Lake Nakuru National Park by lunch time and check in at the Cliff Kenya – an upmarket and chic establishment inside the Lake Nakuru national park.The Cliff is a stunning tented camp surrounded by nature and offers 10 beautifully appointed tented suites. A fusion of the elegance of Europe and the wild of Africa, each suite features a king size bed, a viewing deck to gaze at sensational 180 degree views of Lake Nakuru, a private lounge, and free standing bath tub and shower.

Enjoy sublime cuisine from the exceptional restaurant. Spend your days indulging in a fine selection of spirits and wines, and savour delicious aromatic coffee prepared by the onsite barista. Balance body, mind and spirit with morning yoga and stretching sessions and enjoy relaxing spa treatments or, for the actively inclined, make use of the gym pavilion. When you are not gazing at the panoramic views from your tent, enjoy the wildlife of Lake Nakuru National Park. Explore the park on early morning or late afternoon game drives in Land Cruisers and spot lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. This is also a sensational destination to view colourful birdlife, including pink flamingos wading in the shallow soda lake.

Days 5-7: Fly Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Accommodation: Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp
After breakfast, your day begins early as you leave Lake Nakuru and drive off to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival You will check in at the Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp. Nestled in the heart of the exclusive Masai Mara North Conservancy. Immersed in the original bush among indigenous plantations and trees, the 20 luxury tents are directly overlooking the Mara River, which winds itself around the camp with gently flowing waters surrounded with wild life and teeming with large groups of Hippos.

The Mara North Conservancy is a collective of lodge owners who work in partnership with over 800 local Maasai landowners to promote conservation and sustainable tourism in the region. As a private reserve, you will experience near exclusivity as you traverse the plains and rivers – a pleasant contrast to the Mara. Rising early, you may wish to set out today with a picnic breakfast to enjoy in a hide or beside the river. A safari here will give you plenty of opportunities to watch the resident lion prides closely. Alternatively, you may wish to set out on foot with a local Maasai Warrior, for greater intimacy and familiarity with your surroundings. These warriors will be able to show you and your family the techniques that have enabled them to survive in this challenging landscape for centuries.

Days 8-11: Transfer to Diani Beach

Accommodation: Afrochic Diani
After awesome encounters with the Maasai Mara wildlife, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your maiden schedule flight to Diani. Upon landing you will be transferred to Afrochic Diani – An intimate and luxurious hotel sprawled on the pristine shores of Diani Beach. AfroChic Diani Beach is situated on the pristine white sands of Diani Beach, on the South Coast of Mombasa. This exceptional villa-style hotel was once a private residence, and now offers just 10 suites that have been decorated to blend the region’s African influence with the hotel’s tropical surrounds. Stay in the Executive Suite, Garden View Deluxe Room, Junior Suite or the Ocean View Deluxe Room. Each intimate room boasts a lovely ensuite bathroom, satellite television, DVD players, personal bars and balconies with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean.

Enjoy superb menus offering deliciously fresh seafood along with a variety of French, Indian, Swahili and Chinese dishes. Feel free to dine in the dining room, veranda and the lush green garden, or privately on your bedroom balcony or the under the beach gazebos. Take refreshing dips in the sparkling pool, lounge under the gazebos situated on the beach and leisurely stroll hand in hand around the beautifully landscaped gardens. Miles of expansive and near deserted beaches await discovery, and for those who love golf, an 18-hole Championship Golf Course is close to the hotel. Local boutiques, spas, and craft markets are a short ride away, and day trips to Shimba Hills Reserve and Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary add to the Kenyan coastal experience. Adventures include game drives, guided walks, cultural village tours, horseback riding, birdwatching, windsurfing, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, cycling and visits to the surrounding attractions. Those in need of pampering can indulge in soothing couples spa treatments.

Day 12: Departure to Nairobi

After a fresh fruit breakfast and a few final moments lounging on the beach, your sun kissed family will gather to drive back to the airstrip. Flying into Wilson Airport in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your return flight home.
