Day 1: Arrival Nairobi

Wake up early to a sumptuous morning breakfast, then meet your safari driver who will brief you about the safari. Check out of your hotel and embark on your journey to Amboseli National Park, approximately 160 kilometers from Nairobi, which takes about 5 hours. You are expected to arrive at the park early in the afternoon for lunch at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. After lunch and a bit of rest, you will go for an afternoon walk into a Maasai village, led by Maasai warriors. This visit offers a chance to enjoy authentic Maasai culture. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is secluded within a grove of acacia trees and overlooks the golden savannah plains with uninterrupted views of the mountain. Close by are emerald green swamps fed by melting snow from Kilimanjaro. The mornings offer stirring views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks. You can enjoy activities like game drives, morning bird walks, and visits to traditional Maasai manyattas, along with opportunities to unwind at the lodge.

Day 2: Full Day – Amboseli National Park

After an early morning breakfast, spend the full day in the park with a packed lunch, searching for popular wildlife residents, including well-known predators and their prey such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all with the stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is your opportunity to track the large herds of elephants that have made Amboseli a globally recognized hub for elephant research. Experience the scenic beauty of Amboseli, which is home to the Big Five, including lions, leopards, African cape buffaloes, African elephants, and black rhinos. A visit to Observation Hill is a must; this pyramid-shaped hill offers great wildlife spotting, especially on walking safaris, allowing you to see herds of elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and swamps from the summit.

Day 3: Depart, Transfer to Nairobi

Wake up early for a morning game drive to catch the sunrise, track wildcats, and enjoy your final safari drive. Weather permitting, you may have awesome views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast, check out, and return to Nairobi with a lunch stop en route. You are expected to arrive in Nairobi late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
