Day 1: Arrival Nairobi, Transfer to Meru National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel or airport and depart on a scenic drive across the Equator via the central Kenya highlands to Meru National Park. Arrive at Meru in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. Later, proceed for afternoon game drives, as the park is ideal for wildlife and birdwatching safaris. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 2: Full Day – Meru National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, then leave with a picnic lunch for extensive game drives in Meru National Park, which was made famous by the story of Elsa the lioness of *Born Free* fame. Joy and George Adamson lived here and raised and released Elsa into the wild. Explore the area, enjoying memorable wildlife encounters on your guided game drives. Wildlife here includes Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos, and more than 427 recorded species of birds. The park has a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. Enjoy the lush riverine forests, coursing rivers, and the vast dry open plains dotted with baobabs. Meru is a totally unspoilt part of Kenya, where you can revel in the remote and rugged atmosphere. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve

Enjoy early morning game drives before breakfast in the park to see the sunrise and other wildlife. Return to the camp or lodge for a full breakfast, check out, and leave for Samburu. Arrive in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. Later, depart for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve

Today is dedicated to enjoying the unique beauty of the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The reserve is home to unique species only found north of the equator, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe-necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the blue-necked Somali ostrich. It is also home to the big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and endangered wild dog. After exploring the park, visit a Samburu village. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 5: Sweetwaters

Meal Plan: Full board
After an early morning breakfast, check out and enjoy an en route game drive as you leave for Sweetwaters, arriving in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. In the afternoon, visit the rhino and chimpanzee sanctuary, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Day 6: Depart, Transfer to Nairobi

Rise early, enjoy your breakfast, and then proceed for a morning game drive. Later, leave Samburu and drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route, arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
