9 Days Wilderness Escapades

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Transfer to Maasai Mara
Meal Plan: Full board | Mara Sopa Lodge
At 7 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi CBD and begin the drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the valley floor. Upon arrival, check in at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, depart for a game drive to explore Kenya’s top safari destination and join the hunt for Africa’s Big Five, big cats, and a wide range of other wildlife. The Masai Mara is famous for its superb wildlife viewing year-round. The grassy plains and regular rainfall support a large population of herbivores, attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to spot, and the yearly wildebeest migration is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles.

Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Guests are drawn to this lodge, which features an ethnic design and is surrounded by a rich landscape, including huge desert cacti and sweet-smelling jasmine flowers.

A balloon safari at USD 450 per person can also be organized early in the morning, followed by the normal program.

The Maasai Mara is known for the Great Migration, the annual movement of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in search of water and pasture, followed closely by predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
