6-Day Mountain Gorilla Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Transfer to Protea Hotel by Marriott
Your Ugandan adventure begins with a warm welcome at Entebbe International Airport. You’ll be transferred to the Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe, a luxurious 4-star resort nestled along the sparkling shores of Lake Victoria. This hotel is conveniently located just 1 km from the airport, making it an ideal choice for your first night. Indulge in the exquisite à la carte menu at the hotel restaurant, featuring local specialties like Tilapia and Nile Perch. Enjoy the serene lake views from the outdoor terrace or unwind in the elegantly furnished rooms, creating a truly luxurious atmosphere.

Days 2-3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Stay at Buhoma Lodge

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kihihi. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic transfer to Buhoma Lodge, a charming property boasting breathtaking views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the rare mountain gorilla. As one of only two lodges located within the national park, Buhoma Lodge is just a short walk from the gorilla tracking meeting point.

The lodge features a cozy central area complete with a lounge, bar, and dining space, perfect for discussing the day’s adventures around the fireplace in the cool evenings. While sightings of mountain gorillas cannot be guaranteed, the success rates are over 90%. Once you encounter these magnificent creatures, you’ll have an unforgettable hour with them. Due to early morning tracking, staying overnight in Bwindi is essential, and a second night is highly recommended to maximize your experience. Over the next two days, you’ll have the chance to embark on two gorilla treks (with prior booking). Additional activities include forest walks, visits to local schools or orphanages, and exploring the Batwa pygmy village.

Days 4-5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Stay at Ishasha Wilderness Camp

Depart from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will check in at the renowned Ishasha Wilderness Camp. Nestled within the southern Ishasha sector, this exclusive camp offers a perfect blend of wilderness adventure and exceptional service. Known for its tree-climbing lions, the Ishasha savannahs provide a unique wildlife experience, with elephants bathing in the nearby river and buffalo grazing in the area.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to an impressive array of flora and fauna, with over 95 mammal species and around 612 bird species. The diverse ecosystems within the park include bushy grasslands, Acacia woodlands, lakeshores, and forests, making it a favorite among nature enthusiasts.

Day 6: Departure

Transfer to Entebbe
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Entebbe. A representative will be on hand to assist you. Depending on your international flight schedule, you may have the option to enjoy a meal or relax in a dayroom. Later, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
