Day 1: Arrival Nairobi, Transfer to Samburu

You will be picked up from your hotel or airport and depart on a scenic drive across the Equator via the central Kenya highlands to the dramatic semi-arid scrubland of the Northern Frontier, comprising Buffalo Springs, Shaba, and Samburu game reserves. Arrive at your camp or lodge in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. Later, you will depart for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 2: Full Day – Samburu National Reserve

Today, the full day is dedicated to enjoying the unique beauty of the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The reserve is home to unique species only found north of the equator, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe-necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the blue-necked Somali ostrich. It is also home to the big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and endangered wild dog. After exploring the park, visit a Samburu village. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park

Rise early, enjoy your breakfast, then proceed for a morning game drive. Later, leave Samburu for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stopover to view the scenic Thompson Falls. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. Later, proceed for afternoon game drives to see the black and white rhinoceros, buffalos, lions, leopards, flamingos, pelicans, baboons, monkeys, impalas, gazelles, and a variety of bird species. If time permits, visit the baboon viewpoint cliff. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel, then check out for a thrilling adventure to see the black and white rhinoceros, buffalos, lions, leopards, flamingos, pelicans, baboons, monkeys, impalas, gazelles, and a variety of bird species. Visit the baboon viewpoint cliff, then at around 11:00 AM, leave Lake Nakuru and depart for Naivasha, arriving in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride on the freshwater Lake Naivasha to watch birds and hippos, followed by a guided walking safari at the Crescent Island Sanctuary. This is one of the few places in the world where you can wander on foot among wild animals—there are no predators. Alternatively, you may visit nearby Hell’s Gate National Park, where you can explore the park on a game drive with your guide or take a short bicycle safari among gracefully wild animals and then hike through imposing gorges. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

Day 5: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy breakfast and then depart for Maasai Mara, arriving in time for check-in, lunch, and some rest. Later, you will depart for afternoon game drives through the savanna grasslands in search of the great African wildlife for up-close encounters. Traverse the reserve until late evening to witness the sunset. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, then leave for a full day game drive in search of the Big Five, with packed lunches to allow for extensive exploration of the reserve. Some of the animals you may encounter include lions, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, and antelopes. Break for picnic lunches near the Mara River and continue creating your African safari memories with up-close encounters with several wild animals. After exploring the park, visit a Maasai village. You also have an optional hot-air balloon ride that starts at 6:00 AM and concludes with a champagne breakfast on the plains—an exhilarating experience! Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

Day 7: Depart, Transfer to Nairobi

Early in the morning, enjoy a game drive in Maasai Mara, then return to the camp or lodge for a full breakfast. Afterward, check out and drive back to Nairobi with a stopover for lunch at Narok Town, arriving in the late afternoon and being dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
